Astronomy Short Story
Science fiction in a style of writing that uses scientific ideas to create a fictional adventure. For this assignment you will be working in individually or in pairs to create a science fiction story 400 -500 words in length. The project will be divided into four phases.

Before you begin have someone create a googledoc and share it with me and your partner.
Sample Story
Part 1: Due Friday May 11
Phase 1: Research
Pick a few objects from space that you would like to include in your story. Research some additional information about these objects such as specific names or locations.
Phase 2: Wiritng a draft.
Using the outline (see below) your group will create a draft of your story using the information from your research.
Grading: 5 points
Part 2: Due Monday May 21
Phase 3: Peer Review
You will read the stories of 2 other groups and comment on the following topics:
1. Are there spelling or grammar mistakes?
2. What is something that you enjoyed about the story?
3. What is something they could improve in the story?
Phase 4: Final Product
Using the comments from your classmates you will edit your draft to create and publish your final story. Be sure to use spell check! Please use size 12 font.
Grading: 15 points for a high quality science fiction story. See Rubric for details.
